End Your War With Weight Loss

ByDawn E Thompson

How many weight loss programs have you tried that gave you the "forever" solution of permanent weight lost? Have you begun to realize through your trials and tribulations of many failed weight loss plans that if you try to manage your weight by making radical changes in your diet and lifestyle, the odds are 95% that you will fail?

There aren't any magic remedies, diet pills, gadgets or widgets for losing weight. It takes desire, persistence and dedication to succeed. You'll also need guidance and support from professionals and friends.

For a weight loss plan to be successful it must fit within the boundaries of your daily habits and activities.

Stop and think about it. What do you desire the most? Those things that you can easily acquire, or those things that are forbidden or difficult to obtain? Start adding taboo foods to your weight loss program, and over time, you'll begin to crave those foods.

A good plan for losing weight should not dramatically change your eating behaviors. Your strategy should be to adapt your daily activities and eating behaviors around what you are already familiar with. And of course, your plan should incorporate the benefits of good nutrition, convenience and practicality.

Few people can take a giant leap and succeed. Most accomplishments begin by taking small steps and a plan. When we think deeply and are motivated by others to succeed and inspired to take action, wonderful things can happen!

If you hit a point at which you are not achieving your weight loss goal, spend less time worrying about the causes (after all, you are not Doctor Freud!). Instead, concentrate on changes that you can make that won't leave you feeling like you've made a huge sacrifice and will contribute to your progress.

If you're concentrating on changes you can make, you are aware that your past behaviors have led you to where you are now. Amp up your self-improvement curve by learning how to assess your dietary and nutritional requirements. You only need a basic understanding. Seek advice from trusted authorities like your doctor, a nutritionist or a professional certified trainer.

Don't believe everything you hear or see. Your friends may be well-meaning, but their advice may not be accurate or suited for your body. Once you find a trusted source, ask questions. Lots and lots of questions. One of best used strategies for selling weight loss programs are testimonials. Testimonials are great for demonstrating success, but you should be questioning how many people actually achieved this success compared to how many enrolled, and does the company have data to show how long the weight has been kept off? Do they offer a support system?

Our sense of well-being is determined by the quality of our relationships with other people. Affectionate, caring relationships and a network of friends, family, and colleagues, decreases stress, and increases our chances of a long life and helps to achieve our goals.

Social beings by nature, we do our best when we have friends to inspire us, give support, lend advice and demand the we be accountable when necessary. Surround yourself with people, tools and activities that increase your chances to succeed than to fail! Focus your daily life so that every thing around you pulls your forward!

Remember - there aren't any magic remedies, diet pills, gadgets or widgets for losing weight. It takes desire, persistence and dedication to succeed.
