We are facing one of the biggest health hazards of the 21st century, that is, obesity. Within the United States, obesity afflicts over 30% of the general population. We are living in a world where our waist-lines are expanding and it's becoming the norm. Well, it may be moving into the norm, but it's definitely not natural and most importantly, it's not healthy. I'd like to offer you 5 tips to lose belly fat now and forever.

According to medical experts, obesity is described as a condition in which the body accumulates excess fat to the point that one's health is at risk. How much abdominal fat an individual has can illustrate the overall health of a person.

Belly fat can be hazardous to your health. This is because it can cause high-blood pressure, vulnerability to disease bacteria, depressed immunity, breathing difficulties, sleep disorders and more. Let's get to the 5 tips to lose belly fat.

Get educated - You don't have to become a Doctor, but understand that knowledge is power. When I speak of knowledge, I'm speaking of acquiring some knowledge about food and its effects on your health and your abdominal fat accumulation.

Learn to relax - A stressful lifestyle can do more to put on the weight than most people realize. These days when the average person faces so many challenges, it' s hard to relax. My tip is that you start your day in a quiet place. Upon awakening morning, don't let the television remote control be the first thing you reach for. Lie in the stillness of your mind. Deep breathing exercises or a morning stroll can do wonders for controlling the stress in your life.

Get more physical - When I say get more physical, that doesn't mean join a gym. That means find something you enjoy doing that's physical that will burn off extra calories. That could be dancing, playing basketball, swimming, you name it. Anything that gets you moving. Notice I didn't mention sit ups?

Your diet - Learning to eat the right foods will help keep the fat off forever. We are a society of over-sugared and under-nourished. Unless you get control over that aspect, you will never get the results you are longing for. This is a very important tip to lose belly fat.

A support system - An accountability partner can be huge in your success at losing belly fat and fat overall. Studies show that when a person has a system of support, the chances of success are greater.

By following these 5 tips to lose belly fat, you will lead a healthier life and even look sexier, which is the added plus. But, please understand that too much mid-section fat can lead to health complications, so it is utmost important to understand how important it is to reduce it.
