Preparing Your Mind for Fitness

It's one thing establishing fitness goals; however, it another thing when it comes to following through and achieving your goals. The most important element to following through and achieving your goals is preparing your mind.

Sure you have a game plan but are you really ready to put it into action? Are you ready for the challenges that may come your way? Are you prepared for those set-backs? Are you prepared for those days when you don't feel like doing anything? Are you really prepared or should I ask are you mentally prepared? If you are to achieve your fitness goals, it means you must prepare your mind for the journey. It means you must prepare your mind for not only your goals but for the time it's going to take for you to achieve your goals.

One way of preparing your mind is thinking positively. You have to know that you will achieve the goals that you have established for yourself. For example, if you believe that you will never lose weight, you'll never do it. Instead stand strong and be positive knowing no matter what may come your way, you can and will achieve your goals. Thinking positively will not only help you to achieve your goals; but, it will give you the energy and motivation you need to maintain on the days you have established to work out. It will give you the energy and motivation you need to eat healthy sensible meals and resist that bag of chips or pack of cookies.

Positive thinking will also give you the energy and motivation to overcome those challenges and small set-back that may come your way. They will come; however be ready to stop them in their tracks. If those challenges and set-back happen to sneak their way in, don't let them keep you down. Stand firm to your goals and don't let your mindset wane to long. Positive thinking will help also you to be open-minded to trying new things to achieve your goals. Try a new fitness exercises or different recipes. Search out new ideas and read fitness magazines or books to increase your knowledge and open the door to new activities to enhance your goals and to improve your overall wellness.

Another way of preparing your mind is establishing a vision of what you want to achieve. Whether it's establishing a clear vision of your goals in your mind or posting a picture of them, this will stimulate your mind and keep you motivated. Post it some place where you can see it everyday like your bathroom mirror, refrigerator or work station. Let it be part of your day to keep you motivated. You may also include a favorite affirmation that you can repeat everyday.

Once you have prepared your mind, it's time for you to take action! You can set goals and talk about losing weight and improving your health; however, until you prepare your mind and take action, you will continue to get the same results. Its time for you to move forward and don't let anything get in your way. This is your year! Believe it! Claim it!
