Why do you want to control your weight? There are many reasons for doing so:
• Be more fit and healthy
• Live longer
• More confidence
• Look good and feel good
• Able to better look after grandchildren
• Fly in more comfort
These are just a selection of reason and I am sure you have many more. But I want you to think about the MAIN reason of WHY you want to control your weight?
You do things because they give you something. You are reading this article because it helps you to think about why you want to control your weight so you will do it. You do everything for a reason. Sometimes the reason is a silly little bit of fun, and other times it could be to save your life, and anything in between. The reasons can be positive or negative. It could be to get what you want or to try and get away from what you do not want.
In all these cases there are reason WHY you will do something. However, there are also reasons on WHY you will not do something. This usually shows up when you think about doing a task, having fun, etc that does not occur. The reason it does not occur is because there is a reason for NOT doing it. In other words, there is two sides to everything. There are reasons for losing weight and there are reasons for gaining weight. The action that wins is the one with the strongest WHYs.
You say you want to be more fit and healthy. But it is not occurring. Why? You may say that you do not know why. This may be the case consciously, but it is not the case at the subconscious mind level. It knows exactly the reasons why you are not getting more fit and healthy. But like a 7 year old defiant child, it is not telling you why. Your subconscious mind can be like this but eventually it will tell you one way or the other. Either it will be done in its time or yours.
If you want to take action on controlling your weight, then you need to know the real reasons why you want to lose the weight and discover the reasons the subconscious mind is holding onto, that you gave it in the first case, on why it is not help you. Once you have done this, you can do a type of weighing exercise.
You check which side contains the more weight. Is it to lose weight or is it to keep doing what you have been doing. If it is to lose weight then you will be on your way to make changes and become the slimmer and fitter person you want to be. But if it is the other way, then it does not matter how much you use your will power, the subconscious mind will not budge, and you may lose weight, but then you will just go and put in on again.
Once you have worked out enough strong reason for losing weight that exceed the reasons for holding on to it, and then you will begin to achieve what you want.
