For a visual scale to help you determine your proper height weight as it relates to Body Mass Index (BMI) we recommend using a .

BMI is determined by dividing your weight in kilograms by height in meters squared (for pounds and inches you divide your weight in pounds by height in inches squared and multiply by a conversion factor of 703). Use our BMI Calculator to calculate you BMI value.

The was created by plotting BMI values as it relates to height and weight. The chart is then segmented into the 4 main divisions of weight: Underweight, Normal, Overweight, and Obese.

The BMI range for each of these divisions is:
Underweight Below 18.5
Normal 18.5–24.9
Overweight 25.0–29.9
Obesity 30.0 and Above

Use the below as a general guide to your overall body type. It is important to understand that BMI values can vary depending on ethnicity, age, and muscularity. If you have concerns about your weight and/or heath, we always recommend you discuss this with your doctor as your doctor can then determine your current health based on your exact body type, age, weight, and gender.

Celery Juice Recipes

" src="/images/celery-juice-recipes.jpg" /> by: William B., staff writerPrint Article Print Print Article BookmarkTwitter RSS

Many are now becoming aware of the amazing health benefits and nutritional value of celery.  Celery is a natural diuretic, which may help in flushing toxins out of the body. Celery is also rich in potassium and sodium making it a great natural electrolyte formula. Many fitness gurus tout as a top choice for electrolyte replacement after massive workouts.

Since celery is a low-caloric food with bulk dietary fiber, it is used a great deal in natural weight loss diets. It provides dieters with a "negative caloric" effect due to the fact that while your body digests the celery it actually uses more calories during the process than what the celery contains.

How Much Should I Weigh for My Height

" src="/images/how-much-should-i-weigh-for-my-height.jpg" /> by: Casey L., staff writerPrint Article Print Print Article BookmarkTwitter  RSS

A common questioned asked is, "." One way to determine this is by using your BMI (Body Mass Index) value for a "Normal" body type and extracting out the weight range for a given height.

The Body Mass Index is a value for human body fat based on an individual's weight and height. According to the WHO (World Health Organization), the BMI value for a "Normal Body Fat Range" falls between 18.5 – 25.0.

The formula for calculating your BMI value is:

Pounds and inches Formula:
weight (lb) / [height (in)]2 x 703

Kilograms and meters (or centimeters) Formula:
weight (kg) / [height (m)]2

We can use this formula to derive your suggested weight range (low – high) given your height for a Normal Body Fat BMI range.

Pounds and inches Formula:
weight (lb) low = 18.5 * [height (in)]2 x 703
weight (lb) high = 25.0 * [height (in)]2 x 703

Kilograms and meters (or centimeters) Formula:
weight (kg) low = 18.5 [height (m)]2
weight (kg) high = 25.0 [height (m)]2

An easier way when asking yourself, "," would be to use our Height Weight Chart at the below link.
