Weight loss is not as easy as most websites and health magazines claim, unless of course you maintain a highly disciplined lifestyle and austere food habits. Our current lifestyle makes it exceedingly difficult for us to maintain a proper diet and exercise regularly to stay fit. This acts towards our bodies putting on more weight and at the same time affects our metabolism negatively, making it difficult for us to digest food effectively.

However, here are five great tips that can make a huge difference in your life if followed successfully. These practices will help with improvement of metabolism, make it easier for your body to digest food and ultimately show you weight loss naturally! Let us have a quick look at these five great tips to make the full use of them towards leading a healthier and fitter lifestyle.

Eat Green Vegetables and Fruits

Green vegetables and fruits should be a part of our regular diet. Green vegetables and fruits help with providing vitamins, minerals and fibers helping our body to digest food better. This reduces the quantity of undigested fats, helping with prevention of weight gain and improvement of metabolism. With an enhanced metabolism our body is able to derive more energy from the food we eat, helping us stay fitter and healthier, showing us effective weight loss in the process as well!

Drink Heaps of Water

Water is a very important element in our system. Unless you drink the right amount of water your body will not be able to function optimally towards keeping you fit and healthy, both physically and psychologically. The right amount of water helps with enhancing metabolism and digestion.

Mastering Metabolism and Weight Loss

Losing weight is a crucial part in keeping a healthy lifestyle in and out. With weight loss, you lose the risk to diseases such as gastrointestinal and cardiovascular problems to name a few. Losing weight also does wonders for your self esteem and gaining a positive self concept, a kind of self fulfillment from hard work and discipline it entails to lose weight.

Your metabolism can help you achieve proper weight loss, if indentified correctly. Now, you must determine you metabolism type. In simpler terms, metabolism is the breakdown of food and its transformation to energy. There are three types of metabolism: the Carb Type, the Protein Type and the Mixed Type. All three require appropriate ratios and kinds of healthy proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Determining the metabolism has been an old tool used by doctors and health practitioners to measure how fast or slow a person can gain weight.

The Carb type are those that usually have a weak appetite. These are the goal oriented individuals who skip meals and say that eating is a luxury. Carb type individuals tend to overeat on baked good and starchy vegetables which may lead to diabetes. For carb type people to effectively lose weight, their diet must consist of more carbohydrates and less proteins and fats. Ideal sources of protein must include white fish and white meat poultry. Although the Carb type can tolerate carbohydrates more than the other types, it does not permit them not to gain weight in carb binges. So always bear in mind that moderation is key.

The second type of metabolism is the Protein type. These people tend to crave burgers, pizza, steaks, sausages. Mostly meaty products consist a protein type person's diet. In order to lose weight it is advised that a protein type person must have a high protein and a low carbohydrate diet, but this also means that you need to be balanced in this kind of diet. You should eat protein at every snack or meal. This will help you control your blood sugar levels and leave you satiated and full all day. It is also important to avoid refined carbohydrates such as bread, biscuits and most especially pasta and also to avoid intake of fruit juices. And remember to always eat small frequent meals.

The last type is Mixed type. A mixed type person must eat equal proportions of protein, carbohydrates and fat. Since this is the easiest kind of metabolism to lose weight in. there are more food choices to choose from. You should be aware or familiar with the carb type and protein types diets, since most of the food they are permitted to be eaten can also be your meal plan source.

Once you've figured out how the different kinds of metabolism work for you, you will be able to lose weight with your knowledge. Also remember that to effectively lose weight one must have a proper positive attitude, discipline and determination.

Foods That Increase Metabolism Naturally - Find Out Exactly How To Lose Weight The Natural Way!

* Tuna: apart from being an excellent source of protein, tuna can also affect the levels of the hormone leptin in the blood. Low levels of leptin are associated with a faster metabolism, according to studies made in laboratory animals. Researchers from the University of Wisconsin found that mice that had low levels of leptin in the blood burned fat more efficiently than the ones that had high levels of leptin. Try to eat tuna or salmon at least twice a week.

* Water: water does not burn fat, but its absence will reduce your metabolic rate. Evidence shows that even mild dehydration slows down the metabolism. For this reason you need to drink at least 8 glasses per day, if you want to lose weight.

* Sardines and fish oil: French researchers found that people who replace six grams of fat (about 1 tablespoon of butter) with 6 grams of fish oil, lost 2 pounds in 12 weeks without changing anything else in their diet.

* Pistachios: recent research shows that they reduce appetite without raising blood sugar levels. In addition, a U.S. study showed that people who included nuts in their diet did not gain weight, and they saw a reduction in the levels of triglycerides in their blood. Nuts contain monounsaturated fatty acids, which appear to reduce stomach weight. Furthermore, they are a good source of protein and a combination of protein and fats is the ideal way to increase satiety.

Gender: Men generally have higher metabolic rates than women. This is because men are generally larger than women, they also posses less body fat. A mans basal metabolic rate is calculated be to somewhere around 10 percent to 15 percent higher than that of women.

Age: Metabolism drops by about 5 percent every decade after a person hits 40 years of age. This is simply because as we get older, we tend to lose more muscle and gain more body fat. Meanwhile lean muscle mass burns more calories than fat tissues. So you can understand what happens to a persons metabolism as they lose muscle mass with age.

Hypothyroidism: When your thyroid is under active, this will slow down your metabolism and eventually lead to weight gain. But this condition can easy be detected through a simple blood test, and can then be controlled with proper medication.

Genetics: This is another factor that plays a part in a person's metabolic rate. Some people simply have the genetic luck that predisposes them to fast metabolism-quick conversion of calories to energy. Others are not so lucky.

Do Not Skip Breakfast: If it's not already there, try to add breakfast to your daily meal planner. It's amazing how many people skip breakfast these days. Paradoxically, many who skip this first meal of the day do so with the mistaken belief that it helps them lose weight. Quite the opposite!

The meal you eat in the morning is what prepares your body for the day's metabolic duties. It helps the body to process more efficiently whatever other food you eat in the course of the day. Include Spices In Your Meal: The U.S. Agricultural Research Service states that consuming a mere ¼ to 1 teaspoonful of Cinnamon per day can raise a person's metabolism by as much as twenty-fold! Then there are several varieties of peppers that can spice up both your food and your metabolism-such as chili and cayenne. These last two are better eaten hot for best results.

Eat Foods Rich In Chromium: They include all varieties of tomatoes as well as green pepper, apple, banana and spinach. Chromium can also be taken in supplement form.

Eat Several Portions Each Day: This entails dividing your food into smaller portions which are then eaten more often throughout the day. The logic is that each time you eat, your body's metabolic mechanism is turned on. So the more you eat, the more you get them working. Yes, this may sound strange, but the reality is that eating more often can actually help you lose weight! But really, the emphasis is on the frequency of meals rather than the total quantity of foods consumed in a day.
