How To Lose Weight Fast - Why Should You Exercise Less But With More Intensity

ByMichael A Lopez

Another key element of a permanent weight loss is to exercise less time but with way more intensity.

Your body is a perfect machine build to response to all stimulus in a perfect way. E.g.: you cut a finger with a knife, and hoards of blood cells run to cut the bleeding and kill possible infection organisms that enter your body. You start doing some workout and your body suddenly starts to release sweat to avoid your body temperature rise so high that could literally burn your organs.

Kind of a similar reaction happens with exercise and cardio workouts. They do burn fat, that's truth. But they are the less efficient way for the body to burn fat.

The primary reason is because this type of exercise only burns fat when you are... exercising!.

If you spent a couple of hours at the gym trying to lose fat, the body keeps the fat it was supposed to burn for the next workout session. It's a way of being efficient and releasing the burnt energy in chunks instead of a continuous fat lost. So if you want to lose more of that fat you have to do more and more workouts.

And if you keep that body routine for too long you won't be able to do other things effectively. That's why you may have felt tired enough like not to come back to the gym until you fully recover from prolonged hours of boring workouts.

What happens instead with another type of exercise?

The best fat burning fat would be then the strength resistance training, or weight training. When done properly, it can help you in two ways:First would be the regular fat burning scheme of high intensity and at the other end, it helps build your body with lean muscle, but what does that mean exactly? This means that lean muscle need a least of 40-50 calories a day to function, so make the math when you add several pounds of muscle, you create a calorie deficit that will help you burn even more fat.

When you work out with enough intensity you flip the fat burning switch of your body and then you start burning fat from the carbohydrates in your muscles instead of other body fat. 15 to 26 minutes a day of high-speed-intensity workout with weight training is enough to oblige your metabolism to burn carbohydrates and fat to fully recover your body from the complex chemical process that occurs in muscles, cells and organs. The best part is that this process can last up to 48 hours!

And as if that weren't enough you increase the work capacity of your heart and lungs, which will reduce the chance of cardiovascular diseases.

Don't feel bad at the beginning if you are doing strength resistance training: you may feel as you are not making any progress but remember that muscle weighs more than fat!. So even if you don't see that much weight loss at the beginning is because you are gaining more muscle, but you will definitely feel better.

Keep it the right way and you will keep succeeding!

Yours in success,

Michael Lopez

Should I Weigh Myself? Three Tips For Success

ByTora Cullip

Expert Author Tora Cullip

"Should I weigh myself?" is one of the common questions people ask us when they're trying to lose weight. One of the big frustrations that Donna and I hear time and again is when you feel like you're doing everything right to lose some weight, but those darn scales just aren't shifting. This tends to happen when you first start trying to lose weight, or at certain points along the way when you seem to hit a weight plateau. Your jeans might fit better, your shirt might feel looser and the top button might sit more comfortably, but the bathroom scales are not reflecting these changes.

This can be really frustrating, and understandably is often enough to make you want to give up. But before you do that, please remember these three tips for success:

1. Acknowledge all the things that have changed, even if the number on the bathroom scales hasn't.

Do you have more energy? Are you eating better, and more consistently? Do you feel more in control of your food choices? Do your clothes feel better? Do you feel more confident? Have you changed some unsupportive habits for some supportive ones? Any, or all, of these things are steps towards reaching your weight goal, so don't ignore them just because the scales haven't moved. These ways of measuring your progress are all important. Remember, the bathroom scales are just one measure of your progress.

2. Everyone stalls or hits a plateau.

We don't know anyone who hasn't got 'stuck' at a particular weight, who can't get below a certain number or can't seem to get that first big win on the scales. It is frustrating and it plays tricks with your mind, but please remember that everyone goes through this. You're not alone in the disappointment of not always seeing the results of your efforts on the scales.

3. Give yourself a kick-start.

If you've ever ridden a motorbike, or seen some of the older styles around, you'll know that motorbikes sometimes have a kick-start as well as an electric start. This means having to forcibly step down on the pedal and get the engine running. To achieve this, you have to find a fine balance between finesse and brute force. If nothing's shifting on the bathroom scale, you may need to give yourself a kick-start.

A kick-start literally means to 'start or reinvigorate an activity, system or process'. If you really are at your wit's end and think you're doing everything 'right' but the scales aren't shifting, do something radically different for one week. This could be cranking up your exercise to every day rather than three times a week, cutting something out of your diet entirely (e.g. bread, chocolate, alcohol) or eating your meals the wrong way round (i.e. eat a big breakfast, medium-size lunch and small dinner). It needs to be something that will make your body go 'hey, what's going on here?'. You want to wake your body up and give it a KICK-START. Kick-starting your system for one week can often be enough to get those bathroom scales moving in the right direction.

Make sure you follow these three tips before you let your frustration lead to weight loss sabotage.

Just because you can't pronounce it (let alone prepare it), doesn't mean you should avoid exotic foods altogether. Eden Grinshpan, sexy host of the Cooking Channel's Eden Eats, thinks men should expand their palates.

"If you can relate an ethnic food to something you already have in your pantry, you can substitute it with something that'll lend an exotic flair to your dishes," Eden says. "And you could really impress a date if you whip her up something new and adventurous to try."

1/
Tahini

A toasted sesame paste found in North African cuisine, it adds a great nutty flavor to hummus, sauces - even cookies.

Tahini is supposed to increase blood flow in your arteries, which explains why tahini is good for your sex drive.

2/
Sardines

These oily fish may be small, but they are packed with protein and omega-3 fatty acids. Sardines promote heart health and reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

Grill them three minutes per side, Eden says. Or wrap them in grapevine leaves to hold them together and infuse added flavor.

3/
Turmeric

This spice is an anti-inflammatory and liver detoxifier and aids with weight management and cancer prevention.

"It is subtle, earthy, and adds great color to your dishes," says Eden, who uses it in curries and chicken marinades.

4/ Coconut
Milk

Coconut milk is high in fiber and great for your prostate, skin, and bones. Substitute it for water when steaming rice, or throw it into a protein shake.

5/Brazil
Nuts

High in magnesium and selenium, Brazil nuts are a complete protein source. Add them to trail mix, or snack on a handful before a workout for an energy boost.

6/
Kimchi

A Korean fermented cabbage, kimchi is loaded with vitamins A, B, and C, but its biggest benefit may be its healthy probiotics, which aid in digestion.

Use it instead of pickles in turkey sandwiches, or add to stir-fries and rice dishes.

7/
Ginger

Chew on raw ginger when you're feeling nauseous. Grate or roughly chop and add (with onions) to sautéed dishes to add more heat.

8/
Papaya

An excellent source of fiber; vitamins A, C, and E; and antioxidants. Great for chutneys, salads, and sauces.

9/
Persimmon

The peel of Japan's national fruit is supposed to help reduce signs of aging.

10/
Saffron

The most expensive spice in the world, saffron enhances fertility, relieves anxiety and tension, and even helps improve eyesight. A little goes a long way.

11/
Durian

This porcupine-looking fruit reeks once opened. But if you can get past the stench, you'll be rewarded with a creamy, tangy fruit that's high in iron and fiber, and - Eden adds - "is a powerful aphrodisiac."

12/
Cupuacu

The next big superfruit. It's rich in antioxidants and essential fatty acids and can help increase libido.

13/
Harissa

A Tunisian hot sauce that's great with meats and stews. It's high in vitamin C, and may help you fight inflammation, burn fat, and lower blood pressure.

Use sparingly: It'll burn your mouth, Eden warns.

Be careful with Brazilian nuts. They contain a very high amount of Selenium ( a good mineral that contributes to overall health) but eating them at high amounts everyday can lead to a selenium overdose .
I think the recommended daily amount you can theoretically eat is 1 nut per day.

Btw, sardines in my country are kind of a tradition. We usually buy them fresh and ive got to say they are delicious so if you got the chance buy them fresh and bbq them. If they are of good quality they can be very tasty.
