Role of Water in Weight Loss

ByKya Cassiuss Victoria

A glass of water can go a long way in augmenting the weight loss efforts which you are putting in at the boot camp. Unbelievable though it may sound, water does play a vital role in the way we look and weigh. Three quarters of your body constitutes of water, making it one of the most vital ingredients required for keeping you healthy and well-nourished. However, if you want to know more about the role of water on how to lose weight, you must read further for your own benefit.

One of the biggest impact water has on your dieting habits is that it makes you full without adding an ounce of unhealthy fat or carbohydrate. Gulp down a glass of water before every major meal. Your stomach will automatically feel satiated and you will consume less food. Enhance the impact further by sipping a little water in-between mouthfuls.

Snacking signals are a major culprit for unwanted weight gain. Often, these are nothing but tricks played by the brain which fools the body into thinking that it needs more food when in reality it doesn't. Outsmart your own brain by substituting the snacks with a bottle of water. Keep it somewhere nearby within easy reach and use it every time you have craving for food. You will be surprised at the difference this can make in reducing your body's propensity to accumulate fat from the unhealthy snacks. Along with snacks, cut off the soft drinks too; these are nothing but empty calories piling the flab further. Replace fizzy colas with healthy natural water.

One of the most effective weight loss tips is to start your day with a glass of warm water to which you can add a few drops of lemon juice. The warm water jolts your metabolism into action after a night's rest, giving it a much-needed boost for faster burning of fat cells. Additionally, toxins are flushed out better giving your body a lean and healthy look.

When you drink less water, your body will store whatever is available at different parts of your body, thus giving you a bloated look. Moreover, a dehydrated unhealthy body equals to a sluggish metabolism and slower burning of accumulated fat. Drink at least 8 - 10 glasses everyday to assure your body of a continuous supply so that all the excess water is expelled from your body making you look trimmer.

Whenever you start an exercise program for weight loss at a boot camp, the initial weight loss is mainly caused by the loss of accumulated water in your body. Drinking enough water helps to maintain a healthy reserve of water in your body and it is no longer averse to releasing the stored water.

Drinking cold water is another popular tip on how to lose weight fast. When you down a glass of ice-cold water, you body's metabolism rises immediately as it tries to heat up the water to your normal body temperature. The heat that is required is produced by burning your belly fat.

Fast Weight Loss, Drink Water and Lose Body Fat

Article by Ricardo d Argence

Sometimes dehydration takes on the feeling of hunger. We are in a constant state of dehydration, and as a culture, we have become accustomed to not getting the recommended daily amount of water. This lack of water is hindering weight loss goals in some cases.

If you try drinking water as opposed to stuffing your face with some fattening choices your body will be equally satisfied as all it knows is that is needs liquids in some form. Losing weight is not the only reason to stay well hydrated. Your body uses water in many different ways. That’s not surprising, given that you’re made up of 60% water.

The primary function of water in the body is to flush nasty, undesirable toxins out through the kidneys’ filtering and urination. This removes all the harmful stuff from our bodies that we come in contact with everyday. The liver is forced to do the job of the kidneys if they are unable to function, as is the case when they do not get enough water.

The main task of the liver is to metabolize fat, however this is not the only thing it does. When kidneys are not at peak performance, this is one of their jobs. One complication of lack of fluids is that it hampers the kidneys and in turn the liver has to step up and cannot metabolize as much fat.

Another reasons that make drinking water so important are: it is a large part of the blood, 92%, which is the body’s transport system for vitamins, minerals, nutrients; it also assist digestion, lack of water leads to poor nutrition; lastly, water regulates body temperature.

Most people are aware of water’s ability to help fill you up during a meal, but were you aware that water can increase your metabolic rate? The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism reports a study in which fourteen healthy people increased their metabolic rate in 30%, just drinking water.

This process responsible for the jump in metabolism is warming the water to the body temperature. Drinking ice water can burn more than 70 additional calories a day, simply by increasing metabolism. That in and of itself doesn’t sound like much but over time, it can really add up.

Water is a powerful agent in contributing to more youthful skin, providing more get up and go, lessening headaches and simply making you feel good. Consuming the proper amount of water on a daily bases has been correlated to good vision.

You should drink eight glasses of water a day, but more is always better than none. At least shoot for five to eight glasses in a 24-hour period. A sudden onslaught of eight glasses water at one time will likely run straight through and not give you the benefits mentioned above, this is best done by slowly sipping on water throughout the day.
